Ludovic Morlot takes the Barcelona Symphony to Aix Easter Festival

25 April

This weekend, Music Director Ludovic Morlot takes his Barcelona Symphony on tour to Aix-en-Provence to perform at Festival de Pâques, as well as a pit stop to his home town of Lyon, for a concert at L’Auditorium de Lyon.

Ludovic conducts a new work by distinguished Catalan composer Hector Parra: Deux constellations pour orchestre d’après Joan Miró (2025), and accompanies Lucas Debargue in Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F, opening the programme with Ravel’s Alborada del gracioso and rounding it off with Ravel’s orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This follows their universally acclaimed concerts at the Madrid Auditorio Nacional earlier this month.

“The OBC, with Morlot at the helm, offered a resplendent vision of colour and subtlety combined with a technical order of the first magnitude, highlighting expressive woodwinds, well-weighted brass and excellent strings…an unforgettable concert, after which we can only encourage the OBC to continue along this path of excellence.”
