Ludovic is currently conducting is final two weeks of concerts as Music Director of the Seattle Symphony, and the orchestra has announced that he has been named the Judith Fong Conductor Emeritus.
Ludovic will take up this new lifetime position in Autumn 2019. The title of Conductor Emeritus has been given to Ludovic in recognition of his major accomplishments with the orchestra since becoming Music Director in 2011, and his relationship with them going forward. He will return for regular guest conducting engagements and will continue to work with the orchestra on future recordings, tours and residencies.
Ludovic Morlot says of the appointment “It has been an honour and a privilege to be Music Director of the Seattle Symphony for the last eight years. I am overjoyed to know that I will be a member of that beautiful family for years to come. What a thrill it is to be able to continue to dream ambitious projects with the Seattle Symphony beyond that chapter.”
