Ludovic Morlot returns to BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra

Monday October 20th

This week, Ludovic Morlot returns to conduct the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concerts at Glasgow City Halls and Perth Concert Hall.

Joined by pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja, Ludovic conducts a program of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.24 in C minor and Thamos, King of Egypt, closing with Sibelius’ Symphony No.2 in D major.

Ludovic’s return comes after his successful concerts with the orchestra in February 2024, where he conducted Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 with Boris Giltburg, alongside works by Puccini, Tchaikovsky, and a new work by Roxanna Panufnik.

“Ludovic Morlot … struck a rapport with the SSO that was so natural and flowing you’d have thought they were meant for each other. … It was clear from Morlot’s intense concentration that he, too, was prepared for the unexpected. Such a duelling sense of danger added significantly to the theatre of the performance.””
