Having launched the new L’Auditori Label (under Neu Records) in 2023, OBC will record the complete orchestral works of Ravel with Morlot, a Ravel specialist and winner of five Grammy Awards in his tenure as Music Director at Seattle Symphony. The L’Auditori Label will release 6 discs between April 2024 and December 2026, with the first volume of the collection released on 5 April to coincide with L’Auditori’s 25th anniversary celebrations. Recorded at the Pau Casals Hall of L’Auditori with Mike George and Stephen Rinker – producer and sound engineer of the BBC and Chandos label – the disc includes three iconic works by the composer from Ciboure (French Basque Country).

This new collection stems from Morlot’s involvement on the Ravel Edition, a project to produce revised editions of the composer’s works through a collaboration between musicologists and musicians. The Ravel Edition has brought together the input of such artists as Morlot, Renaud Capuçon, John Wilson, François-Xavier Roth, Bertrand Chamayou, George Benjamin, Cristian Măcelaru among others.
