On 18 & 19 March, Music Director Ludovic Morlot conducts the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra in the national premiere of Sofia Gubaidulina’s The Lyre of Orpheus for Violin, String Orchestra and Percussion, across two nights at L’Auditori.

The programme will open with Brahms’ Schicksalslied (‘Song of Destiny’), which is followed by the national premiere of The Lyre of Orpheus by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina. The work is the first part of the composer’s triptych Nadeyka, and will be performed by violinist Marc Bouchkov.

The second half of the concert will feature Berlioz’s La Mort d’Ophélie, before Ludovic finishes with Lili Boulanger’s Du fond de l’abîme, with mezzo-soprano Marta Infante.
