Ludovic Morlot conducts BBC Philharmonic in world premiere work

On 28 June, Associate Artist Ludovic Morlot returns to lead the BBC Philharmonic in a concert at the Blackpool Opera House, UK. It is presented as part of THE BLACK LIGHTS; a new festival of contemporary art taking place across multiple venues in Blackpool.

Ludovic will open the programme with the world premiere of a new work by English composer Mica Levi. Mica is known for their film scores – notably Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest (2023) and Under the Skin (2013) as well as their collaborations with Nan Goldin on Memory Lost, Sirens (2019).

Ludovic will also conduct Terry Riley’s minimalist work In C, and Oliver Leith’s Pearly, goldy, woody, bloody, or, Abundance, before closing the evening with John Adams’ Harmonielehre.

The concert
will be recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Looking ahead, Ludovic returns to lead the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra in their annual Clàssica a la Platja festival on Sant Sebastià Beach on 9 July.
