New release: Dalbavie

July 29, 2019

Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony’s disc of Dalbavie has now been released.

The disc is Ludovic Morlot’s last as Music Director of the Seattle Symphony, and features Dalbavie’s La source d’un regard (written to commemorate the centennial of the birthday of French composer Olivier Messiaen) alongside his concertos for oboe, flute and cello.

Ludovic is well known for being a wonderful interpreter of French repertoire, and together during his eight years with the Seattle Symphony has explored the music of Berlioz, Dutilleux, Fauré, Messiaen, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, among many others. This new Dalbavie release is the latest recording collaboration between Ludovic and the orchestra as Ludovic moves to his new position of Conductor Emeritus.

This recording can be bought from the Seattle Symphony, Amazon and iTunes.

You can listen to the album here. For more information, see the Seattle Symphony website.
