On 12 September, Ludovic travels to Denmark to conduct the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra in an afternoon concert at the Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center. He will be joined by pianist James Zijian Wei for Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.1 in C minor, before closing the concert with R. Schumann’s Symphony No.1 in B-flat Major ‘Spring’.

Ludovic returns to the orchestra a week later on 17 September to conduct a programme of Poulenc’s Les biches, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.27 in B-flat Major, joined by pianist Imogen Cooper, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.1 in F minor.

On 24 September, Ludovic ventures further North to Trondheim, Norway, to lead the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in a concert as part of the Trondheim Kammermusikkfestival. The programme will feature Festival composer Kristine Tjøgersen’s piece Pelagic Dreamscape  – which depicts wildlife above and below water associated with islands in the open sea. The work was nominated for Work of the Year 2024 by the Norwegian Composers’ Association.

Ludovic will also be joined by star violist Antoine Tamestit for Walton’s romantic Viola Concerto in an evening framed by two Frenchmen and two other works that are inspired by the sea; Ravel’s shimmering Une barque sur l’océan and Debussy’s atmospheric orchestral work, La mer.
