On 10 July, Ludovic Morlot returned to conduct the second concert as part of the annual Clàssica a la Platja festival on Sant Sebastià Beach. Returning to the event with the OBC and joined by Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música, they performed to an audience of over 30,000 people. 

Celebrating Barcelona’s famous beaches and its classical and lyrical music offerings, Classica a la Platja brings together the city’s great classical institutions – Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and the choirs of the Palau de la Música Catalana – for two concerts that are free to the public. 

Ludovic conducted a concert performance of Bizet’s opera Carmen, featuring Mira Alkhovik in the lead role. Alongside excerpts from this opera, the orchestra performed Granados’ Tres danzas españolas.
