Ludovic Morlot conducts
Orchestre national de Lyon

Tuesday May 27th

Ludovic Morlot returns to his home-town on Wednesday May 28th to conduct the Orchestre national de Lyon in Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and Stravinsky’s Sacre du Printemps

This concert comes only a few weeks after Ludovic’s return to the Auditorium de Lyon on tour with the Barcelona Symphony to conduct Ravel and Gershwin, performed to a full hall and rapturous reception. It marks Ludovic’s first return to the orchestra since his early career when he was Assistant Conductor.

« phrasé sensuel, dynamiques franches, rythmique serrée…de bout en bout irrésistible, nourri par une complicité entre Ludovic Morlot et les musiciens espagnols…une version convaincante »
ResMusica

Ludovic next returns to Barcelona to close the season and record the next installment of the orchestra’s acclaimed Ravel cycle. The recording project has received wide international praise:

« dirigé avec une rigueur et une expressivité, une volubilité dynamique et une appétence coloriste qui font rutiler les chatoyants sortilèges ravéliens »
Le Monde

Ludovic concludes the season with the Seattle Symphony, where he serves as Conductor Emeritus, before rejoining the Barcelona Symphony for a summer tour. The orchestra performs at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam on Friday July 18th with a program including Ravel’s Tzigane, performed by Renaud Capuçon, and Ravel’s orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
